Everyone likes to receive cards. Beautiful pictures, personal notes inside-perfect cards can pull our heartstrings. For many of us, we like their state at the time and then let go of them. However, not everyone feels this way. I often see people struggling with the proliferation of cards, how to deal with them: keep it or throw it away? This is my suggestion for greeting cards.

You can keep special cards.

However, not all cards can be stored permanently or have equal emotional value. Hand-made works with heartfelt notes are different from ordinary memory cards (only the signature on the bottom). People often feel obligated to make every card free of guilt or tradition. The next time you find that you often stuff cards into a pile, ask yourself: "Why should I keep this card?" If it is indeed a card that conveys joy or makes you feel connected to people, places or time, Then find a unique way or place to keep the card to commemorate this memory.

It's okay to lose the card.

If your card collection is overwhelming mentally and physically, and you don't like them, you can let it go. Of course, you don't need anyone else's permission; but over the years, I have found that customers often need to hear about letting go. Remember, when you keep everything, nothing special.

Letting go does not always mean throwing them in the trash can.

There are schools, nursing homes, adult daycare centers, and recreation centers where there are programs for collecting and reusing cards. St. Jude Children’s Ranch recycles used greeting cards and makes new holiday greeting cards and all occasion greeting cards. In addition, you can also use them for your own handicrafts or scrap booking projects.

Appreciate why you want to keep the card.

When sorting your favorites, please determine which cards are closely related and why. Understanding the attachment can help you decide how to use or store it. Once, while helping a client organize her office, we found a tattered old card with a hand-painted blue frog on the front. She immediately began to laugh and cry. This card made a joke with her dead brother. We realized that the story meant a lot to her, so we scanned the card and saved it to her computer. This allows her to share their special stories with friends and family on Facebook.

Instead of stuffing a special card into a box or drawer, find a way to reuse it. I hope these tips are helpful to people who are ready to use the old card. Filtering through these memories can be an emotional roller coaster. Find some quiet time, settle down, and go for a drive!
