Some people always think that Chinese New Year cards are imported. In fact, China is the first country in the world to use Chinese New Year cards. As far back as the Song Dynasty, there was a trend of sending "New Year greetings" to each other in my country, which was actually the embryonic form of New Year cards.

Emperor Taizong used greeting cards to send greetings to ministers during the New Year and Spring Festival. From heads of state to ordinary people, they have the habit of sending greeting cards to relatives and friends. When did the special blessing medium of greeting cards come into being, why did it spread to this day, and what development and changes it has experienced.

Chinese traditional culture places great emphasis on "li", which was the essence of Chinese culture. Many contents of etiquette are expressed in form, such as greeting cards. Presenting greeting cards before important personal events or public holidays is a solemn form, and an early notification to the other party is convenient for both people and yourself. Therefore, since the Han Dynasty, greeting cards have been retained as a traditional form, but the name has changed.

With the improvement of printing technology, by the 1990s, Chinese New Year cards have become popular all over the country. In 1991, the postal greeting card issued by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications-the award-winning postcard "Year of the Monkey", this is the first set of philatelic products in which the inscription on a Chinese stamp was changed from "China Post" to "China Card".

Later, there were more and more patterns of greeting cards, music, three-dimensional, spring, and serial. In short, there are only you can't think of, and there is nothing you can't buy. For people born in the 1970s, buying and sending greeting cards is an important program at the end of the year.

However, since 1999, when the "Reduce Cards and Save Trees" campaign was promoted, the value of greeting cards has plummeted. People who responded to the call for environmental protection did not reduce their holiday blessings by not buying greeting cards. The development of the Internet has opened up a new world for greeting cards.

By the beginning of the twentieth century, it was common to use Christmas cards to bless relatives and friends and congratulate the New Year, whether or not they are Christians. And from this, a more non-religious (or oriental) "new year card" was derived. Due to the traditional paper card, the material is mostly high-grade wood pulp paper, and the production of this paper consumes wood resources. Today, when low-carbon environmental protection is advocated, traditional Chinese New Year cards have created their own new glory in the virtual society after merging with modern network technology-electronic greeting cards (E-card). E-cards are equivalent to e-cards, quickly becoming a fashion because of their fast, convenient, economical and environmentally friendly features.

The emergence of electronic greeting cards has had a certain impact on traditional greeting cards, but the two cannot completely replace each other. Some people think that the feeling of happiness and touch when receiving traditional greeting cards cannot be replaced by other methods. Traditional greeting cards still have the advantages that electronic greeting cards cannot replace. In terms of environmental protection, more work can be done on technology, such as the use of waste paper.
