Have you ever observed how the notebooks you use every day are bound? Is there a binding method that you would avoid when buying a notebook? Regardless of whether it is a customized notebook or a sold notebook, the binding methods are nothing more than the following four, this article will take you in-depth understanding.

Method one:  loose-leaf binding

Loose-leaf binding is different from other binding methods. The inner pages of a book are not permanently bound together, but can be replaced or added or subtracted at any time. It is suitable for manuals that frequently need to be revised and updated or books with added or deleted pages, including three-fold binding that is often encountered. Loose-leaf binding is a relatively simple binding method. It only needs to punch holes on the binding edge of the inner page according to the direction of the number of turns, and then put the inner page on. In addition, double loops are also one of the most common binding methods. Double coils are also called "Wire O". Most of the year-end calendars, table triangle calendars and books, etc., are bound by double coils, which are very delicate; the punches are mainly square holes, but also round holes.

Method two: coil binding

Coil binding is to open a row of holes on the binding edge of the printed sheet, and pass the coil through it to achieve the binding effect. Coil binding is usually regarded as fixed binding, but some plastic coils can be removed without harming the inner pages, and can be bound from the beginning when required.

Method three: saddle stitch binding

The saddle stitches mainly use metal threads to bind the signatures together. In the process of binding, the signatures are reversely concealed on the conveyor belt, and the folding direction of the signatures is upward, like a saddle stitch, so it is called a saddle stitch. The binding position is usually in the folding position of the signature, and the number of staples depends on the demand, usually two to three.

Method 4: Threading and binding

Thread binding is to stitch each hand book signature into a book with needles and threads. The needles used are straight needles and curium needles. The thread is a kind of blended thread, which is mixed with nylon and cotton thread. It is not easy to break and firm. Manual threading only needs to be used for large books and small accounts. Therefore, many binding factories use threading machines to lock each post tightly into each other, which is called lock thread; semi-active threading machine has a high output power, and a few books can also be perfunctory. Regarding the printing of hardcover albums, those that require high quality and serviceability will choose to bind with thread.

The binding methods of mainstream notebooks are the above four. If you have your own creativity, you can also DIY. After all, the methods are limited and the creativity is unlimited.
